Upcoming projects: fy2011-2012

 

Upcoming projects for FY 2011-2012:

  • Repairs to Staff washroom
  • Supplement outstanding payment for security not covered by Ministry of Education (repayment shared with Canadian chapter)
  • Furnish the staff room with a server, computers, printers and a laptop
  • Distribute annual supply of books and magazines for the library
  • Give out cash awards and Certificates for Outstanding and  Honorable Performances to the top fourteen student in each class from Forms One to Four, twelve students graduating with the CAPE certificate,  and fifty students graduating with the CSEC certificate

2007

Major accomplishments of the association, in conjunction with the Canadian Chapter and Government of Guyana, in 2007 include the following:

  • Repairs to the Physics Lab: Alumni Association - New York.
  • Repairs to the Chemistry Lab: Alumni Association - New York.
  • Landscaping of Our Lady Statue Area: Alumni Association - New York.
  • Lawn Maintenance Equipment project: Alumni Association - New York.
  • Repairs to the Biology Lab: Alumni Associations - New York/Canada. ** Repairs to the Home Economics Room: Alumni Association - Canada.
  • Repairs and refurbishing of Staff Room: Alumni Association - Local Chapter. ** Repairs to the Marian Wing: The Ministry of Education, Guyana.
  • Awards for outstanding Academic Achievement: funded by the New York Alumni.
  • Motivational Retreat for Teachers (September 2007): funded by the Canadian/New York Chapters.
  • Two book shipments: funded by the New York Alumni.
  • Trophies, medals & cups for Athletic meet: funded by the New York Alumni.

2006

  • Construction of a trestle, installation of 4 water tanks and a pump to provide water to the Marian Wing. Assistance was provided by the Alumni Associations of Guyana, Toronto and New York.
  • Removal of graffiti from school building walls. Funded by the New York Alumni.
  • Repair (Phase I) to the Church Street Building which houses part of St. Rose's High School and the Hall. Financed by the Ministry of Education.
  • Re-painting of 1st Form class rooms. Funded by well-wishers of the school. ** Payment of Custodian salary. Funded by the New York Alumni.
  • Procurement of books and magazines. Funded by the New York Alumni.
  • Procurement of Risograph copier and a Sharp photocopier. Funded by the Alumni Associations of New York and Canada.
  • Procurement of 300 chair/desk sets and 50 chairs for the Hall. Funded by the Alumni Association of Canada.
